About us at Kent Dog Training

My name is Nigel Marshall MBIPDT. I am a award winning dog instructor, dog behaviourist and dog trainer from Kent and have been involved in the working and training of dogs for over twenty years. I am a member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers (Registered No. M/133/09) and hold a wealth of experience in the pet dog-training environment.

Dogs have always been part of my life, the fondest memories of my childhood include the times I spent with our pet dogs of numerous breeds, shapes and sizes. From an early age I can always remember wanting to work with dogs whilst at the same time to be able to help people.

In 1994 I joined a leading government agency with a goal of joining the dog section. I was able to do this very early on in my service after passing the relevant exams and that year became the winner of the novice handler trophy. I have worked and trained several award-winning working dogs for general patrol duties, the detection of drugs, weapons, cash explosives and specialist firearm support roles. I have been involved in the training of gift dogs, sourced temperament specific puppies and worked with numerous charities.

With a view of achieving excellence in all dog training I have been awarded many trophies including winners cups for obedience and agility. I regulary work with national TV companies and local radio supporting dog owners. In 2019 I worked with the BBC Britain's Got Talent supplying advice and direction to various acts and in charge of animal welfare.

I have helped some wonderful dog owners with their pets and was encouraged to supply a more structured service. The majority of these owners requested "simple but effective dog training" which I enjoy delivering the most.
